Synopsis

Hector works as a night watchman. He takes care of his brother, who suffers a mental and physical disease. Hector has to struggle with all kinds of adversities in his daily life: a pending trial, an abusive father, a depressing job… Despite all of his efforts to get by, Hector keeps sinking in a state of disturbing apathy, from which it will get more and more difficult to escape… With a suggestive visual approach and the compelling performance of Amadís de Murga, Open 24h portrays the daily existence of a man trapped in a heavily oppresing reality.

"It combines its content and form with insolent modesty (...) with a bare yet suggestive camera, and a staging that is splendid in both its simplicity and complexity"
